In the time before time, there was only Creation, and before the War In Heaven, there were no Fallen Angels, Demons, or Devils.  Lucifer was the brightest of the Angels.

Today, despite the loss of the uncounted Fallen, Angels carry on their works, ever obedient to the Higher Power, God, Allah, Jehovah, Yahweh.  They are said to be everywhere, watching, influencing everything.

Angels and Archangels are present in the beliefs of the three major monotheistic religions, (in chronological order) Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and in various forms in many other cultures and beliefs.  Angels are also present in predecessor religions such as Zoroastrianism.  The Angels are widely believed to be agents of the Divine, and are generally presumed to be under direct command of the Divine and doing his bidding.  Most beliefs indicate Angels do not have free will, but, despite possessing great power, are servants of God/Allah/Jehovah/Yahweh.
