So "Insulting Islam" has been in the news recently, with two high profile
cases making the rounds.
In one case, we have a young Saudi Arabian writer who apparently released
several "Tweets" deemed insulting to the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh), which raised a
firestorm of protests. He fled the country, but was arrested in
Indonesia.
In another case, a famed Egyptian Comic Adel Imam was charged with this
same crime for the content of his plays. He plead guilty and was sentenced to
three months in jail.
So let's be sure we understand this.
Starting around 610 C.E. (That's Anno Domini to the old school readers),
Mohammed (Peace be Unto Him), aged about 40, received Divine revelations through the
Archangel Gabriel, in which he was commanded to recite the following:
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who
created-
Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood:
Proclaim!
And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,-
He Who taught (the use of) the
pen,-
Taught man that which he knew not.
Thereafter, Mohammed (pbuh) received revelations
after which he was deemed by many to be the final prophet in a line that went
back to Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. These revelations became the Quran. The
Quran is to be the pure, unaltered, and the actual words of God. Today over one
billion people in dozens of countries adhere to this belief.
Ok. So back to our story.
If this is all true, as they believe it to be. And
these are the actual words of God. And Mohammed (pbuh) is the final Holy
Prophet of God. And the Quran is the Word of God. And those that do not submit
to the Will of God will be punished eternally in Jehannam (Hell.) And God
created the universe and is all powerful. And these truths are
uncontestable.
Then who cares if someone "insults" Islam?
Does such a powerful God care? Isn't the offender
going to suffer eternally in Hell anyway? Isn't that God's judgement to make?
Why would such a powerful God need men to punish someone who "insults" Islam
when that person already faces terrible torment beyond all imagination at God's
hand anyway?
If God is so powerful, how is it He is threatened
so badly by a misled human who has signed his own Hell warrant anyway?
If the Quran is so true, so pure, than why can it
not withstand question, or criticism, or "insults"?
We, in Hell, know the answers to these questions.
The answer is this: Because Islam, like all religions, was designed and used as
a weapon to control people. Even today, the evil being done in the name of
religion continues to defy the imagination.
And as is necessary in such a controlled
environment, you are not allowed to question authority, and the leaders will use
"divine" authority to get the other members to punish the ones that went
astray.
This is what a "cult" does. The only reason they
don't call major religions "cults" is because once you reach a large number of
victims, it gets recognized as a major religion instead of a cult. This is
especially true when the cult members start to gain positions of power in their
societies and can actively work to alter public opinion, and get into the heads
of generations of children who then grow up believing the cult is something
legitimate.
Early Islam was criticized by contemporary
Christians as being a false religion, and one reason they gave is that it was
being spread by use of the sword. That is a funny criticism for Christians to
make when they, themselves, were guilty of the same thing. The only thing that
is obvious is that religions of all flavors were being used to control the
ignorant masses.
Just like today.
We don't want any clerics, priests, rabbis,
reverends, ayatollahs, cardinals, or popes to be surprised, but it's not those
that "insult" Islam or any other faith that are going to be burning in Jehannam
for Eternity. It's going to be the religious extremists. The ones who shut off
their common sense and humanity in favor of their ego and lust for power,
control, and sadism.
So, a word to you, foul controllers and deceivers
of men. Grab what power you can now, and enjoy the ill-gotten wealth and
privilege you have stolen from the masses. But you can't take it with you. And
there is no God, Allah, paradise, or virgins waiting for you in Heaven. There
is only the fire down below.
With us.
In Hell.
